Child Support Issues

All parents have a duty to support their children.  Washington child support is calculated by using the Washington Child Support Schedule which calculates what the overall expenses are for child rearing on a monthly basis and apportions a percentage of that expense to each parent based upon their respective incomes and expenses.

Periodic modifications are available and when substantial changes in circumstances occur (i.e. If a party returns to work after spending years at home with infants).  Child support is usually due until a child reaches the age of 18 and can extend through post secondary education.
