VICTIM IMPACT PANEL
Victim Impact Panel is a program found across the United
States. Panels are also offered throughout the State
of Washington. Courts will require you attend one
Victim Impact Panel as a sentencing condition for any DUI
conviction or conviction of a lesser charge amended from an
original DUI charge. Courts have the discretion to
impose this sentencing condition for other criminal
convictions as well.
Victim Impact Panel is an awareness program. Three of
four speakers will discuss their personal experiences during
a two hour session. The speakers are victims of
Driving Under the Influence incidents. Some panels
will include individuals that, while Driving Under the
Influence, caused an accident resulting in the death or
severe bodily injury to their own passengers.
We advise you attend a Victim Impact Panel as soon as
possible after an arrest for Driving Under the Influence.
It is also suggested new drivers attend before receiving
their driver license as a good form of prevention.
Victim Impact Panels are offered by multiple organizations.
